2012 ‐2013, Knowledge support for a main contractor
Our client, a main engineering contractor, had just won a tender to upgrade the electrical infrastructure supplying 10‐floors of an occupied building. A vacant building would have presented no problem to our client, but they acknowledged that performing these works in occupied premises would require specialist advice and expertise; in both a political and a logistical capacity. Whiston Solutions stepped in to provide this support.
The contractor commissioned us to act in a ‘project liaison’ capacity between themselves and their corporate client. Drawing on our experience and expertise, we helped the contractor bring the project to fruition by helping them fully understand the corporate’s business and working model, their constraints and restrictions, and the resulting requirements. Most importantly, we established a continuous flow of communication between the contractor and the corporate, ensuring everyone was kept fully abreast of progress and understood the business implications at each stage. By bridging the ‘understanding’ gap between the two parties, we helped the contractor to deliver a solution that met their clients’ needs perfectly.
There can be no doubt at all as to the value that Whiston Solutions added; both to the main contractor and to their corporate client. By providing the communications link and the expertise to identify and resolve potential issues, we helped our client avoid pitfalls and eliminate wasted time – ensuring the project ran smoothly, minimising time and cost, and maximising their profits.
