When a London-based retail bank approached Whiston Solutions, they were facing a serious challenge. The bank had recently reduced their headcount as part of a portfolio optimisation strategy. As a result of this initiative, they needed professional space planning advice to help them consolidate their properties in key European sites.
The first part our approach involved conducting a thorough analysis of the various sites, including location, function, existing headcount, amenities and efficiencies. This gave us a good indication of the potential solutions, and to assess their suitability in terms of flexibility, scalability and cost-effectiveness. We also explored the benefits of agile working, to further reduce the bank’s space requirements. These insights enabled us to develop a brief that addressed every angle of their requirements – demonstrating we understood their business and their situation, and securing full client sign-off and go-ahead.
Our proposed budgets for Stages 1 and 2 were swiftly approved, enabling us to implement our strategy to right-size the bank’s portfolio and help them meet their operating capacity. Through careful, coordinated planning and meticulous attention to detail, we were able to create flexible spaces that met all of the bank’s planning, management and environmental requirements.
